This PSP spin-off of Bumpy Trot/Steambot Chronicles is supposed to come out sometime this year, so it'll probably come out before Bumpy Trot 2 even comes out.

It looks pretty cool and I want anything BT/SC I can get my hands on, so it'd be a day one purchase for me.

These are some screenshots since it seems like practically no English-speakers have heard of it. I hope linking to another site isn't against policy.

Linking is fine and even encouraged in Suggestion Board topics. If you happen to be posting about a game we've never heard of, it's usually the best way for us to find out more about it.

Loved the Ps2 version,I hope this one will be as deep as the first ^^

This looking awesome. Originally, I thought this was to be a sort of combat specific variation of Steambot Chronicles, but those on-foot screens suggest this is another installment similar to the first on PS2.

Either way, day one. I was even thinking on picking up Blokus Club.

Yes. I'm not sure if you'll still want the full game after that:

Irem's Bumpy Trot game moves from the PS2 to the PSP and takes on the guise of a 3D tournament-based brawler with interaction and 200+ missions mixed in for good measure. Bumpy Trot was originally an RPG with action-packed fighting sequences but the PSP is mainly an action game. Players take on a Bumpy Troy mech which may be customized and upgraded with parts to make it a unique vehicle with the ability to punch, pick up objects, and thrust forward like a Votoms mech.

The action takes place in Orion City where Bumpy Trot drivers from around the world have gathered together for a battle royale. Since the PSP version of Bumpy Trot will basically be an action game, Irem has tweaked the game engine so that it's more conducive to fast-paced gameplay where Bumpy Trots are more mobile and easier to handle. Up to four players may participate in the ad hoc mode.

Excellent, no idea how you found such a little-known game on an unknown website like that.

Unless it's very recently become one of the top returns on a search for it or something...

Now that the game is out, and I've had a chance to actually play it (Thank you japanese exchange student) I have to say that this is definately a Must translate game. It's like the original bumpy trot (before hand I was under the impression that it was a fighting game, not a full fledged RPG), only now it's portable and has a new story. It looks great, sounds great, and plays great. I really hope that the original translation team takes a crack at this, because their work on Steambot Chronicles was brilliant.

So did you ever pick up Blokus Club? I just noticed that Blokus and Steambot were dropped to $8 used/$10 new so I was thinking just getting both for myself.

Blockus club is just as fun as real blockus, but the constant chattering of the steambot characters will get annoying to anyone who isn't a fan. anyways, 10 bucks is the same price as the actual board game, so why not pick it up?

No. I decided against it.

I'm still curious, though. If I spot it cheap one day, I might.

It's fun, but only pick it up if you can find it for the same price as a blockus boardgame (there isn't enough content to justify a purchase as anything more than a casual title)

Day one if it's localized. Controlling yourself in town traffic instead of selecting destination looks great.

I've played it. it totally is. this game absolutely needs to make it over here. If not, someone had better do a fan translation.

I would also buy this if translated. Steambot Chronicles is one of my top 10 favorite rpgs.

I played it recently too but man I really hope they translate this game. I've only played up to after they stopped showing objectives on the map so I have no idea what to do since it was in Japanese but here's to hoping.

Well I haven't finished Steambot Chronicles yet, I won't lie...the Steambot Controls are a little daunting for me.

But I really enjoy the rest of the game, and relish the customization on the Steambots.

I know this is just supposed to be a brawler...but if the Steambots are easier to control, and still have all the customization it could be a lot of fun.

Yeah, the dual control sticks were difficult to get use to. I understand what they were going for with the "Driving" the trot aspect but it's just makes it difficult when it doesn't have to be. I wish it was just the left stick to move and the right stick to turn, other than that one complaint the game is fantastic. I don't even play rpg games, but this game got me into them.

Make sure you read the instruction manual, there's some cool production details in it. Atlus did a fantastic job at localizing this game. :)
