Combat

Have you ever been playing a board game (even a video game version of a board game) and said to yourself, "Hey, you know what this is lacking? More combat!"...? Well, then look no further!
When you enter battle, you will draw cards to see who will attack and who will defend first. Obviously, first attack gets an advantage.
You will need to read your opponents moves and determine the best or safest course of action. See below for more details.
Survival of the fittest! Fight lots of battles to make sure you're the strongest adventurer out there!
Fighting enemies more powerful than you will cause you to level up. Distribute the bonus points you get to make yourself stronger!

Battle Commands

Combat in Dokapon Journey plays out similar to an RPG, but with the less-important and time-wasting elements removed. Your commands are linked to button presses to ensure that battle remains interactive and accessible. Also, unlike most RPGs, when you are the one BEING attacked, you have a different set of commands to use to help minimize the damage (or even counter their attack!).

In each round of combat, both sides alternate being the attacker and the defender.

For each type of attack there is an optimal defense. For instance, if you select "Defend" when you opponent uses "Attack" against you, the damage you take will be reduced. If you select "Counter" when they use "Strike," you'll dodge their attack completely and swing at them in retaliation!

AND THERE'RE PRANKS!!!!!!!

When you beat a monster, you will gain money and experience. When you beat another player, though, you will gain experience AND have the option to steal their belongings or change their name!
